10:25 AM EDT, 08/07/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Coherent (COHR) said Thursday it has signed a new multiyear strategic supply agreement with Apple ( AAPL ) to continue manufacturing vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers, which power key features such as Face ID on iPhone and iPad devices.

Financial details weren't disclosed.

The devices will be produced at Coherent's facility in Sherman, Texas, the company said.

Shares of Coherent were up more than 3% and Apple's ( AAPL ) rose more than 2% in recent Thursday trading.
