Coherent Gets $15 Million in US CHIPS Act Funding

09:59 AM EDT, 04/10/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Coherent (COHR) said Wednesday that it has obtained $15 million in funding from the US Creating Helpful Incentives to Produce Semiconductors, or CHIPS, and Science Act of 2022.

Coherent said it will get the funding to accelerate the commercialization of next-generation wide- and ultrawide-bandgap semiconductors, specifically, silicon carbide and single-crystal diamond.
