08:39 AM EST, 11/19/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Colliers International Group ( CIGI ) said Tuesday that its 2026 Global Investor Outlook shows investors are re-entering global real estate markets and pursuing diversification across regions and sectors.
In Canada, safe-haven appeal and supply constraints in multifamily and retail sectors are driving investor confidence, with institutional capital returning to the market, the report noted.
Data centers accounted for 31% of global real estate funds raised for the first nine months of this year, making it the second-most popular asset type, and displacing industrial. Offices are also rebounding globally. Alternatives such as student housing, self-storage and healthcare are also gaining traction, driven by demographic trends and supply-demand imbalances.
Industrial, multifamily and retail assets are also attracting capital, particularly in markets with strong fundamentals and constrained supply, Colliers said, adding that investors are focusing on logistics hubs, urban residential growth corridors and retail formats anchored by essential services.
