09:59 AM EDT, 10/31/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Comcast ( CMCSA ) will initiate a study to explore creating a new company comprised of its cable portfolio networks, President Michael Cavanagh said Thursday on the company's Q3 earnings call with analysts.

"I think we've got a very strong hand given the strength of the businesses," Cavanagh said. "And I think the idea of playing some offense when you combine the balance sheet strength that we have, the assets we have and the management team we have, there may be some smart things to do, and we want to study that."
