Markets: United States Treasuries gain in Asia as stock futures slip on latest U.S./China headlines. The US dollar (USD) weakens, oil is little changed, gold rallies to a new record.

Fed: Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia President Anna Paulson favors rate cuts "along the lines" of dot-plot (i.e. two more cuts this year), doesn't see sustained inflation from tariffs.

U.S.: Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent says the government has "to shuffle things around" to get military personnel paid.

U.S./China: Bessent accuses China of trying to damage the global economy. "This is a sign of how weak their economy is, and they want to pull everybody else down with them." Chinese ministry of cthe ommerce spokesman vows to "fight to the end" in trade war, but door for negotiation is open. China sanctions U.S. entities of the shipbuilder Hanwha.

==EUROPE:

France: Socialist leader Olivier Faure reiterates call for "immediate and complete suspension of pension reform; otherwise we will censure the government." Young Socialists call for government censure "without hesitation." Nobel Prize winner Philippe Aghion also calls for pension reform to be 'put on hold' until after the presidential election.

United Kingdom: Bank of England policymaker Catherine Mann says Brexit and former Prime Minister Liz Truss' mini-budget crash were steps in a long "erosion" of sterling as global reserve currency.

==ASIA:

Japan: Finance Minister Katsunobu Kato notes the yen (JPY) weakening with some abrupt moves since last week, reiterates to closely examine excessive moves.
