04:46 PM EST, 11/22/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Community Health Systems ( CYH ) said late Friday it has agreed to sell ShorePoint Health Port Charlotte, parts of ShorePoint Health Punta Gorda and related businesses to Adventist Health System Sunbelt Healthcare for $265 million in cash.

Inpatient services at the Punta Gorda hospital have been stopped indefinitely because of damage from Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton, the company said.

The sale is expected to be completed in Q1 of 2025, subject to regulatory approvals and other closing conditions, it added.
