11:40 AM EDT, 10/01/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Comtech Telecommunications ( CMTL ) said Tuesday that SES Space & Defense has awarded the company an initial order for its SLM-5650B satellite modem and other next-generation modems.

Financial details weren't disclosed.

Initial quantities are expected to be delivered within the next year, the company said.

The SLM-5650B is designed for critical communications in military and government applications.

Shares of the company fell 7.1% in recent Tuesday trading.
