Conifex Timber Says Q4 Loss Widens as Revenue Falls
Mar 13, 2025 4:52 AM

07:43 AM EDT, 03/13/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Conifex Timber ( CFXTF ) overnight Wednesday reported a wider loss and decreased revenue in the fourth quarter due to lower lumber shipments and higher manufacturing unit costs from single shift operations.

Conifex reported a net loss of $11.8 million in the three months ended Dec. 31, compared with $5.3 million, a year earlier. The basic loss per share for Q4 doubled to $0.29 from $0.14 a year-ago.

Revenue for the quarter decreased to $31.0 million compared with $35.2 million, a year earlier. Conifex produced 24.8 million board feet of lumber in Q4, representing about 41% of capacity on an annualized basis.

The company said its combination of higher lumber prices and increased shipments, with lower per unit manufacturing costs, supports "solid" EBITDA generation in Q1 of 2025.

Shares of the company closed unchanged at $0.30 on Wednesday on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
