12:55 PM EST, 11/07/2024 (MT Newswires) -- CoreCivic ( CXW ) shares soared past 25% in recent Thursday trading, a day after the company posted quarterly results that exceeded analyst expectations and raised its earnings outlook for the year.

The company reported Q3 adjusted earnings late Wednesday of $0.20 per diluted share, up from $0.14 a year earlier.

Analysts polled by Capital IQ expected $0.09.

Revenue for the quarter ended Sept. 30 was $491.6 million, up from $483.7 million a year earlier.

Analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expected $469.8 million.

For full-year 2024, the company said it now expects adjusted diluted EPS of $0.69 to $0.75, up from its prior guidance of $0.58 to $0.66. Analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expect $0.61.
