09:18 AM EST, 11/25/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Corning (GLW) offered a raft of concessions to the European Commission to address competition concerns over the way it secures supply deals for its Gorilla Glass brand, the top EU authority said Monday.
The Commission opened an investigation earlier this month over concerns that Corning may have distorted competition by signing anticompetitive exclusive supply agreements with original equipment manufacturers and raw glass finishers.
Corning's proposed concessions include waiving all exclusive dealing clauses with OEMs and finishers and not to use such clauses in future deals, the Commission said. Corning also suggested not to offer OEMs any price advantages that require OEMs to purchase certain quantities of its glass products.
The Commission said it is accepting comments on the proposed commitments within six weeks from their publication in the EU's official journal.
