08:45 AM EDT, 06/04/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Cornish Metals ( SBWFF ) has lost gains and gone negative in early afternoon trade Wednesday in the UK after saying it has placed long lead item orders for two winders for its South Crofty tin project in Cornwall, England. The winders will be used at South Crofty's New Cook's Kitchen shaft.
One winder will replace an existing winder that is currently being used for pre-production access and shaft refurbishment activities.
The second winder is being designed to handle the hoisting demands required for the proposed production rates as detailed in the South Crofty Preliminary Economic Assessment.
"Placing the orders with Qualter Hall for the winders to be used at South Crofty's NCK shaft is a vital step to maintaining the momentum on-site, actioning one of the project's critical path projects which will allow for the planned commencement of pre-production underground development in H2 2026," said Don Turvey, chief executive officer.
Cornish Metals ( SBWFF ) was last seen down 20 pence to 7.80 pounds, on the London Stock Exchange, having been up by as much around midday there.
