07:19 AM EDT, 08/19/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Cornish Metals ( SBWFF ) jumped 9.9% on the London Stock Exchange after reporting early Monday results from the final eight drill holes of a 8,993-meter drilling program at the Wide Formation target near the South Crofty tin project in the UK.

Highlights include 10.55 meters grading 0.19% tin, including a zone of 1.49 meters grading 0.72% tin, as well as 1.56 meters grading 0.76% tin, 2.07 meters grading 0.85% tin, and 1.97 meters grading 0.66% tin.

"This drilling program has validated the Wide Formation as a new, large-scale, tin-bearing exploration target that is potentially accessible from the underground workings at South Crofty," said Ken Armstrong, the interim CEO.

Cornish said mineralization remains open along strike and to depth.

"Furthermore, in addition to the earlier discovery of the Great Flat Lode Splay and new Dropper zones of high-grade tin mineralization, the discovery of polymetallic tin and copper mineralization within the interpreted extension of the Great Condurrow Mine's Main Lode further demonstrates the exploration potential of the South Crofty area," Armstrong said.
