Correction: AT&T Begins Notifying Customers, State Authorities of Previously Reported Data Breach

AT&T ( T ) on Wednesday began notifying customers and state authorities of a previously reported data breach affecting over 51 million people.

The data released on the dark web included information on an individual's email address, phone number and social security number, the company previously told customers. AT&T ( T ) said that no personal financial or call history were included.

The company added that the leaked data appeared to be from June 2019 or earlier and offered customers a one-year complimentary credit monitoring, identity theft detection and resolution services.

Meanwhile, in a data breach notification to the state of Maine, the company said nearly 90,000 residents of the state were affected in the leakage.
