A New York judge on Tuesday dismissed two terrorism-related counts against Luigi Mangione over the December 2024 killing of UnitedHealth Group's ( UNH ) UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, according to media reports.
Mangione remains charged with second-degree murder, but Judge Gregory Carro said prosecutors failed to present enough evidence to the grand jury to show he intended to influence government policy or intimidate health insurance workers, which is necessary to prove murder as an act of terrorism, the reports said.
UnitedHealth ( UNH ) did not immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
