08:14 AM EDT, 09/19/2025 (MT Newswires) -- (Corrects the reporting day in the lede and the timing of executives' meeting in the headline and first two paragraphs.)
Walt Disney Co. ( DIS ) executives had scheduled to meet with suspended talk-show host Jimmy Kimmel on Sept. 18 amid hopes to put Jimmy Kimmel Live! back on the air if they can find a path forward, Bloomberg News reported Thursday, citing sources familiar with the matter.
The focus of the discussions was reportedly the possibility of the show returning, with the earliest date set for Monday.
Disney's ( DIS ) ABC network pulled the show after pressure from the Federal Communications Commission and local station owners, following controversial remarks made by Kimmel on Sept. 15, the news outlet reported.
Disney ( DIS ) is eager to return to the show, but the resolution will depend on reaching an agreement that satisfies both Kimmel and his critics, while Kimmel himself has not been asked to apologize, and he has no plans to do so, Bloomberg quoted the sources as saying.
Disney ( DIS ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
