Corteva Q3 Non-GAAP Operating Loss Widens, Sales Fall; 2024 Outlook Cut -- Shares Slump After Hours

05:21 PM EST, 11/06/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Corteva ( CTVA ) reported a Q3 non-GAAP operating loss late Wednesday of $0.49 per diluted share, wider than a loss of $0.23 a year earlier.

Analysts polled by Capital IQ expected a loss of $0.30.

Net sales for the quarter ended Sept. 30 were $2.33 billion, down from $2.59 billion a year earlier.

Analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expected $2.70 billion.

Corteva ( CTVA ) lowered its full-year 2024 operating earnings guidance to a range of $2.50 to $2.60 per share from $2.60 to $2.80 previously. Analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expect $2.67.

The company now expects 2024 net sales between $17 billion and $17.2 billion, compared with its previous guidance of $17.2 billion to $17.5 billion. Analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expect $17.23 billion.

For 2025, the company expects net sales in the range of $17.3 billion to $17.7 billion. Analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expect $17.93 billion.

Corteva ( CTVA ) shares were down nearly 11% in recent after-hours activity.
