04:55 PM EDT, 07/10/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Costco Wholesale ( COST ) reported late Wednesday net sales of $24.5 billion in the five weeks ended July 7, up from $22.8 billion a year earlier.

Net sales in 44 weeks rose to $210.6 billion from $196.9 billion a year earlier.

Starting Sept. 1, annual membership fees for US and Canada Gold Star, Business, and Business add-on members will increase $5 to $65, Costco said. Annual fees for executive memberships in the US and Canada will increase to $130 from $120.

The maximum annual 2% reward associated with the executive membership will rise to $1,250 from $1,000.

Costco's board maintained the quarterly dividend at $1.16 a share, payable Aug. 9 to shareholders of record July 26.

Costco's shares rose 2.6% in recent after-hours trading.
