Costco Wholesale Rejects Nearly All Teamsters Proposals, Union Says
Dec 12, 2024 10:22 AM

12:53 PM EST, 12/12/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Costco Wholesale ( COST ) dismissed about 98% of the Teamsters' proposals, including paid family leave and sick time, the union said Thursday.

The Teamsters said the current Costco National Master Agreement is set to expire on Jan. 31 next year and without an "acceptable" collective bargaining agreement, over 18,000 Costco workers will be forced to strike.

"The clock is ticking, and instead of engaging seriously at the bargaining table, Costco continues to waste time with surface bargaining," said Teamsters General President Sean O'Brien. "Costco's actions are pushing us closer to a labor dispute every day."

Costco didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
