Bitcoin, the largest cryptocurrency by market value, topped the $70,000 level for the first time in volatile trade, Reuters reported.

The cryptocurrency was trading at roughly $67,896 around 11 am ET, according to CoinMarketCap data.

Coinbase Global ( COIN ) shares were up 5.5% in recent trading, while Marathon Digital ( MARA ) jumped 5.8%. Riot Platforms ( RIOT ) rose 2.1%.
