02:29 PM EDT, 08/22/2025 (MT Newswires) -- CSX (CSX) and Berkshire Hathaway ( BRK/A )-owned (BRK.A, BRK.B) BNSF Railway said Friday they are collaborating to offer several new coast-to-coast intermodal services for freight transportation in the US.
The companies plan to introduce direct intermodal services between Southern California and Charlotte, North Carolina, and Jacksonville, Florida.
A new service will also be launched between Phoenix, Arizona, and Atlanta, Georgia, aiming to shift over-the-road freight to rail.
In addition, the companies said they will offer direct international intermodal services between the Port of New York and New Jersey, and Norfolk, Virginia, and Kansas City.
Further, two new 10,000-foot sidings will be built between Phoenix and Flagstaff, Arizona, to support more efficient operations on the route connecting to BNSF's Southern Transcon.
Shares of CSX were down 3.4% in recent trading
