Analysts polled by Capital IQ expected $2.07.
Revenue for the quarter ended June 30, expressed as the sum of net interest income and noninterest income, was $528.8 million, up from $512.1 million a year earlier.
Analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expected $508.3 million.
The company said it raised its quarterly dividend to $0.95 per share, payable Sept. 13 to shareholders of record as of Aug. 30.
