10:34 AM EDT, 03/13/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Cummins (CMI) zero-emissions business segment Accelera said Wednesday it has commissioned its first fuel-cell-powered locomotive for freight rail applications in Austria for the HY2RAIL project.

Austrian engineering consultancy, m.Zero, integrated the company's fuel cell power modules in a 120 kilowatts system, Accelera added.

In partnership with Accelera, m.Zero also led the integration of all balance-of-plant components and interfaces, Accelera said.

Financial terms weren't disclosed.
