06:41 AM EDT, 09/17/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Cygnus Metals ( CYGGF ) late Tuesday released an updated mineral resource estimate for its Chibougamau copper-gold project in Quebec showing a 78% increase in measured and indicated resource.
The updated MRE showed an M&I mineral resource estimate of 6.4 million tonnes at 3% copper equivalent and inferred mineral resource of 8.5 million tonnes at 3.5% copper equivalent.
Total contained metal is 149,000 tonnes of copper, 167,000 ounces of gold and 1.6 million ounces of silver in the M&I category; and 182,000 tonnes of copper, 454,000 ounces of gold and 2.2 million ounces of silver in the inferred category.
The initial high-grade Golden Eye resource contains 91,000 ounces at 5.6 grams per tonne gold equivalent in the indicated category and 182,000 ounces at 4.6 g/t gold equivalent in the inferred category.
The 78% tonnage increase in M&I resources will underpin an updated scoping study and preliminary economic assessment, which will also reflect an increase in commodity prices on the economics of the project since the 2022 PEA.
