March 20 (Reuters) - The following bids, mergers,
acquisitions and disposals were reported by 0930 GMT on
Wednesday:
** Swiss contract drug manufacturer Lonza said it
would buy one of the world's largest manufacturing sites for
biologic drugs in California from drugmaker Roche for
$1.2 billion.
** Kenyan lender KCB Group is set to announce the
sale of its subsidiary National Bank of Kenya (NBK), the Daily
Nation newspaper reported , citing unnamed sources.
** Private equity firm BC Partners is in advanced talks to
sell Aenova Group, a Germany-based contract manufacturer and
development services provider for the pharmaceutical industry,
to Apax Partners, according to two sources with knowledge of the
matter.
** Britain's Johnson Matthey ( JMPLF ) said it will sell its
medical device components business to Montagu Private Equity for
$700 million in cash, as part of its strategy to focus on growth
units and streamline operations.
** European carmaker Stellantis ( STLA ) announced that
it was acquiring a stake in optical radar start-up SteerLight as
it seeks to strengthen its market position and secure access to
crucial sensors for autonomous driving.
** India's HDFC Bank said it has completed the
sale of its stake in education finance arm HDFC Credila for
95.53 billion rupees ($1.15 billion) to private equity firms
BPEA EQT and ChrysCapital.
** Gildan Activewear ( GIL ), said on Tuesday the
board has decided to put the Canadian clothing maker up for sale
and is in talks with multiple bidders.
** Amedisys ( AMED ) said on Tuesday Oregon's health
authority has started a review of UnitedHealth Group's ( UNH )
$3.3 billion acquisition of the home health and hospice
caregiver.
