April 15 (Reuters) - The following bids, mergers,

acquisitions and disposals were reported by 0930 GMT on

** Italy's Prysmian will acquire Encore Wire ( WIRE )

for $290 per share in cash, with its implied enterprise

value is about 3.9 billion euros ($4.15 billion)

** British automotive distributor Inchcape ( IHCPF ) said it

had agreed to sell its UK retail operations to car retailer

Group 1 Automotive UK for 346 million pounds ($431.43 million)

in cash.
