June 7 (Reuters) - The following bids, mergers,
acquisitions and disposals were reported by 0930 GMT on Friday:
** Italy's doValue has agreed to buy rival
Gardant in a cash-and-stock deal, the country's biggest bad loan
company said early, bulking up in the face of ebbing flow of
impaired debt due to banks' surprisingly healthy loan books.
** Intimate apparel designer and maker Hop Lun, backed by
U.S-headquartered global investment firm Platinum Equity, has
acquired Hong Kong-based P.H. Garment, according to a joint
statement.
** An Indian company tribunal approved the merger of
full-service carriers Vistara with larger rival Air India on
Thursday, according to an order dated June 6, bringing both Tata
group airlines a step closer to completing the deal.
** Emerson said on Thursday it had agreed to sell
its remaining stake in its Copeland joint venture to Blackstone
in a $3.5 billion deal, as the U.S. industrial firm
further streamlines its business to sharpen focus on automation.
** Investment banking firm Piper Sandler ( PIPR ) said on
Thursday, it had agreed to buy smaller rival Aviditi Advisors,
helping it expand in the lucrative market for private equity
deals.
** Brazilian restaurant chain operator Zamp has
agreed to buy the rights to operate the Starbucks brand
and some stores in the South American country, it said on
Thursday, sending its shares soaring.
