July 18 (Reuters) - The following bids, mergers,
acquisitions and disposals were reported by 0930 GMT on
Thursday:
** Apax Partners, Bain Capital and CVC are each
exploring potential bids for SoftwareOne, two people
with knowledge of the situation said, three months after the
ouster of the Swiss software company's board.
** Finnish energy group Fortum has agreed to
sell its recycling and waste business to investment company
Summa Equity for about 800 million euros ($875 million), it
said.
** U.S. vertical farming startup Plenty is forming a joint
venture with Mawarid, a subsidiary of Alpha Dhabi Holding
, in a $680 million deal to develop a network of
indoor farms in the Middle East, the companies told Reuters.
** Samsung Electronics ( SSNLF ) said it agreed to acquire
Oxford Semantic Technologies, a British startup specialising in
technology that can be used for more sophisticated artificial
intelligence (AI) applications.
** Darden Restaurants ( DRI ), owner of the Olive Garden ( DRI )
chain, has agreed to buy full-service restaurant operator Chuy's
Holdings in an all-cash deal which has an enterprise
value of $605 million, the companies said on Wednesday.
