June 23 (Reuters) - The following bids, mergers,
acquisitions and disposals were reported by 0930 GMT on Monday:
** British healthcare real estate investor Assura
recommended rival Primary Health Properties' ( PHPRF ) new 1.79
billion pound ($2.4 billion) takeover bid, which trumps a lower
offer from KKR and Stonepeak Partners.
** Italian energy group Eni has sold a 20% stake in its
retail and renewables business Plenitude to U.S. alternative
investment manager Ares Management Corp ( ARES ) for about 2
billion euros ($2.3 billion), it said.
** Precision instruments maker Spectris ( SEPJF ) agreed to a 4.4
billion pound ($5.9 billion) debt-inclusive takeover deal by
private equity firm Advent over a rival proposal from KKR
, marking the biggest acquisition in Britain this year.
** BBVA could withdraw its offer for smaller rival
Sabadell if conditions imposed by the Spanish
government are too harsh, or if it were forced to accept the
sale of Sabadell's British unit TSB.
** Prosus is "very confident" of securing early EU
antitrust approval for its 4.1-billion-euro ($4.72 billion)
acquisition of Just Eat Takeaway.com
** Northern Trust's ( NTRS ) shares rose 5% in premarket trading
on Monday after a Wall Street Journal report said Bank of New
York Mellon Corp ( BK ) had approached the asset and wealth
manager recently to express interest in a merger with its
smaller rival.
