Sept 11 (Reuters) - The following bids, mergers,
acquisitions and disposals were reported by 0930 GMT on
Thursday:
** Convenience store operator RaceTrac agreed to buy sandwich
chain Potbelly Corp ( PBPB ) for approximately $566 million on
Wednesday, in a rare move for a convenience store operator to
buy out a restaurant brand.
** Barrick Mining ( B ) said on Wednesday it agreed to sell
its Hemlo gold mine in Canada to Carcetti Capital for up to
$1.09 billion.
** Australia's second-largest gas producer Santos said
on Thursday it has signed an agreement with explosives
manufacturer Orica ( OCLDF ) to negotiate a potential domestic
gas supply deal from its Narrabri Gas Project in New South
Wales.
** Private equity firm GTCR has struck a 4.1 billion euro ($4.8
billion) deal to buy Czech generic drugmaker Zentiva
from Advent International, the Financial Times
reported on Wednesday, citing unidentified sources.
** French energy infrastructure company Technip Energies
said on Thursday it had agreed to buy U.S.-based
chemicals group Ecovyst's ( ECVT ) Advanced Materials &
Catalysts business for $556 million.
** Spanish power utility Iberdrola has bought a 30.29%
stake in its Brazilian business Neoenergia from
Brazil's Previ pension fund for 11.95 billion reais ($2.21
billion), it said.
** Global investment firms Carlyle Group and EQT, alongside
regional players HongShan Capital Group and Boyu Capital, are
preparing final offers for a controlling stake in Starbucks'
China operations, said five people with knowledge of the matter.
** Lufthansa is working with Italy's economy ministry
to increase its stake in state airline ITA Airways to 90% by
June 2026, the Corriere della Sera newspaper reported, citing
two sources familiar with the discussions.
