Oct 29 (Reuters) - The following bids, mergers,
acquisitions and disposals were reported by 0930 GMT on
Wednesday:
** Japan's Sumitomo Corp ( SSUMF ) said it would spend about
881.7 billion yen ($5.85 billion) to turn SCSK ( SCSKF ), an IT
service company, into a wholly owned subsidiary.
** Japanese technology group NEC will pay about $2.89
billion to acquire U.S.-based telecoms and broadband software
company CSG Systems ( CSGS ), it said.
** Chinese private equity firm Boyu Capital has emerged as the
frontrunner to buy a controlling stake in Starbucks' ( SBUX )
China business in a deal that could value the unit at more than
$4 billion, Bloomberg News said on Tuesday.
** Medical equipment maker Thermo Fisher is nearing an
all-cash takeover of U.S-based Clario in a deal that could value
the clinical trial data management company at about $10 billion,
the Financial Times reported on Tuesday.
** Private equity firm Francisco Partners is close to a deal to
buy device management software provider Jamf ( JAMF ), two
people familiar with the matter said, taking the company private
a little more than five years after its market debut.
** Argentina's state-run oil company YPF said on
Tuesday it has acquired the remaining 50% stake in Refinor from
Hidrocarburos del Norte for $25.2 million.
** Nvidia ( NVDA ) will pay $1 billion for a stake of 2.9% in
Nokia as part of a deal focused on AI and data
centers, the Finnish telecom equipment maker said on Tuesday as
its shares hit their highest level in nearly a decade.
