Defense Metals Secures Funding for its Wicheeda Rare Earth Element Project

02:58 PM EST, 03/03/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Defense Metals ( DFMTF ) was slightly lower Monday afternoon despite news that it won funding of up to $853,825 from Natural Resources Canada's Critical Minerals Infrastructure Fund to support the advancement of infrastructure for its Wicheeda Rare Earth Element deposit, located northeast of Prince George, British Columbia.

The company said funding will support an economic study assessing the construction of a 46km transmission line connecting Wicheeda to the provincial hydroelectric power grid.

Shares of the company were last seen down 0.005% at $0.160 on the TSX Venture Exchange.
