Delta Air Lines Aircraft Strikes Tail of Regional Jet at Atlanta Airport

01:23 PM EDT, 09/10/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Delta Air Lines ( DAL ) said Tuesday one of its planes struck the tail of a regional jet at Atlanta airport.

Delta Air Lines Flight 295, an Airbus 350 bound for Tokyo, was taxiing for departure when its wingtip hit the tail of Endeavor Air Flight 5526, which was headed to Lafayette. Louisiana, the US Federal Aviation Administration said Tuesday in a statement.

The FAA said it will investigate the incident that took place at the intersection of two taxiways.

The airline said it is cooperating with the National Transportation Safety Board and other agencies. The tail of the regional jet and the wing of the A350 were damaged.

"There have been no reported injuries at this time," Delta said.

Delta shares fell 1.3% in recent trading Tuesday.
