06:58 AM EDT, 10/21/2024 (MT Newswires) -- A Delta Air Lines' ( DAL ) flight to New York made an emergency stop due to a technical fault at the Blaise Diagne International Airport in Senegal on Saturday, multiple media outlets reported, citing Senegal's transport ministry.
The aircraft was a Boeing ( BA ) 767, carrying 216 passengers, Reuters reported, citing the ministry.
"The plane, during takeoff, performed an acceleration maneuver followed by an emergency stop due to a technical incident," the news outlets quoted the ministry as saying in a statement.
Senegal's national civil aviation agency and its Bureau of Investigations and Analysis will probe the incident, the outlets quoted the ministry.
Delta, Boeing ( BA ), and the Senegalese ministry did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
