04:29 AM EST, 11/07/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Delta Air Lines ( DAL ) said Friday it is reducing flights at 40 major US airports, effective immediately, in compliance with a directive of the Federal Aviation Administration because of air traffic control staffing shortages.

The airline said all planned FAA-directed flight cancellations for Friday and Saturday have been completed and that customers are being offered flexibility to change, cancel, or refund their flights.
