01:17 PM EDT, 07/09/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Delta Air Lines ( DAL ) said it signed Tuesday a strategic cooperation memorandum of understanding with Saudi Arabia's Riyadh Air to expand networks, drive growth and strengthen connectivity.

The agreement includes interline and codeshare connectivity, loyalty programs, digital transformation, and aviation services, according to the company statement. Financial details were not disclosed.

Future plans involve exploring a joint venture and new routes, including Delta's nonstop service between the US and Riyadh, Delta said.

Riyadh Air will begin operations in 2025, which will also be Delta's 100th anniversary, Delta added.

Shares of Delta Air Lines ( DAL ) rose 2.2% in recent Tuesday trading.
