Oct 17, 2024 2:41 PM

08:49 AM EDT, 10/14/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Delta Air Lines ( DAL ) has suspended hot meal service on 200 flights departing from the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport during the last few days over a food safety issue, media reports said Sunday, citing a company statement.

During a recent inspection of the Detroit kitchen, the airline discovered an unspecified food safety problem, notified the caterer then shut down hot food production and halted all operations at the facility, the reports said.

"Hot food and other onboard provisioning will be managed from other facilities," the reports cited the company as saying.

Delta did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
