Demand looks robust; will pass on GST benefits to consumers: Crompton Greaves
Feb 25, 2021 6:13 AM

Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals, one of the leading manufacturers of consumer products, said that the company will pass on the Goods and Services Tax (GST) benefits to the consumers as and when it comes.

Speaking in an interview to CNBC-TV18, Shantanu Khosla, managing director (MD) of the company said, “Whatever reduction there maybe be if there is, as we have always done, we would pass on the benefit of that straight to the consumer in terms of reducing prices.”

On demand front, “The overall demand continue to be strong through January-February as demand was strong in October-November-December and we have seen trends more or less continue, as we moved into 2021, to be stronger than they were in pre-COVID times.”

However, said Khosla, the commodity costs have gone up significantly and is now a headwind which we are managing by cost reductions and better management.
