Can Fin Homes reported an 11 percent rise in the first-quarter profit but its loan growth was slowest in eight quarters.
SK Hota, managing director of Can Fin Homes spoke to CNBC-TV18 about the company's earnings and outlook.
“The demand remains very much there but the issue is from the supply side because Can Fin Homes operates in the Rs 25,00,000-30,00,000 in the metros and Rs 10,00,000-15,00,000 in the non-metros segment. So the average ticket size of my housing loan is around Rs 18,00,000. That has come down, for this quarter, it is around Rs 17,75,000,” said Hota.
“Demand is very much there, what is worrying is the number of projects those were being launched in that particular segment that has come down. Post RERA, the customers’ confidence has increased significantly, there is a lot of demand, only thing is somebody has to address the supply side issues,” he added.
“Almost 90 percent of my portfolio comes from lower income group (LIG) and economically weaker section (EWS),” said Hota.
