Demopolis Equity Partners Welcomes Santo Cannone as Partner
Sep 23, 2025 7:36 AM

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Demopolis Equity Partners, a technology-focused buyout and growth equity firm, today announced that Santo Cannone has agreed to join the firm as a Partner, transitioning from his previous role as an Advisor to the firm. He has served as an Advisor to Demopolis for several years. As Partner, Cannone will help to lead and drive Demopolis’ strategy, supporting the firm in areas including deal sourcing and execution, portfolio company value creation implementation, executive coaching and mentoring, and deal exit support.

“I have worked with the Demopolis team for nearly a decade and believe that their model of deploying former operators and strategy consultants with deep domain experience is a differentiator in helping to grow lower middle market companies,” said Cannone. “I have seen firsthand the challenges that come with leading and managing a lower middle market company, and I am excited to leverage my three decades of experience to partner with leading tech CEOs and help their businesses thrive.”

Cannone is a seasoned executive with more than 30 years of experience leading, operating, and growing software companies. He has held several leadership positions across sales, product management, and operations for businesses ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies. Cannone played a significant role in growing Open Solutions from a small, lower middle market core banking company into a category leader acquired by Fiserv, where he was named Chief Product Officer post-acquisition. Earlier in his career, he served as Chief Operating Officer of Connectwise, an IT management software company that was later acquired by Thoma Bravo.

“Santo is a proven technology leader and business builder, and we are honored that he is moving from an Advisor to a Partner of the firm. It is a rare accomplishment to go from an executive in a lower middle market company to the C-Suite of a publicly traded financial services leader. Santo was adding tremendous value as an Advisor to our operator-led model, and we know his impact will be even greater in his new role as Partner,” said Tim Greenfield, Managing Partner of Demopolis.

“Santo’s joining significantly increases Demopolis’ overall capabilities and sector domain expertise. His broad experience and deep understanding of Demopolis’ strategy having worked with members of the Demopolis team on some of our independent sponsor deals and Fund deals make him an excellent fit for our team,” said Wanda Felton, Head of IR at Demopolis.

Cannone’s appointment underscores Demopolis’ commitment to building a world-class team and further advancing its mission of partnering proven operators with lower middle market businesses to achieve long-term growth and success.
