07:41 AM EDT, 07/11/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Denison Mines ( DNN ) said Thursday that it signed agreements with local communities to support the development of its 95%-owned Wheeler River project in Saskatchewan.
The company said it signed a mutual benefits agreement with Kineepik Metis Local (KML) #9 and a community benefit agreement with the Northern Village of Pinehouse Lake.
"The signing of these agreements represents another significant and important milestone for Denison and the Wheeler River project," said David Cates, Denison's president and CEO.
Denison said the agreements followed a memorandum of understanding it signed with the communities in 2017.
"It is particularly rewarding for us to have earned the support and consent for the advancement of the project from both KML and the Village," Cates said.
Denison's share price was up 0.5% at last look to US$2.25 in NYSE pre-market trading and jumped 8.6% yesterday to $3.03 on the TSX.
