07:02 AM EDT, 03/12/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Deutsche Bank ( DB ) said Thursday that it plans to defend itself "robustly" in civil lawsuits filed by former employees, who are seeking more than $980 million in total settlements for alleged damage caused to their careers.
Six former employees of Deutsche Bank ( DB ) have sued the German lender for career damages after Italian courts fully acquitted the staffers in 2023 following an earlier 2019 conviction related to 2008 deals with Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena, according to Deutsche Bank's ( DB ) 2025 annual report.
Civil claims for 152 million euros ($176.3 million) and 600 million British pounds ($805.5 million) have been filed by five employees in Germany and the UK.
The sixth former employee, who had also filed a claim on the same basis as the other 5 plaintiffs, has now resolved on a confidential basis "all of the claims and allegations that the employee has previously made against Deutsche Bank ( DB ) and its personnel," the annual report said.
"Deutsche Bank ( DB ) considers all such claims to be without merit and will defend itself against them robustly, including disputing the inflated, unrealistic alleged losses claimed," according to the annual report.
