10:35 AM EDT, 06/05/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Devon Energy ( DVN ) said Wednesday that John Bethancourt has been named independent board chair, effective July 1, succeeding Barbara Baumann.

Bethancourt joined the board in 2014.

Baumann will remain on the board and join the compensation committee and governance, environmental, and public policy committee, the company said.
