Devon Energy's Q2 Earnings Pressured by Tax Impact of Pipeline Stake Sale, RBC Says

11:04 AM EDT, 07/10/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Devon Energy's ( DVN ) Q2 production could surpass midpoint guidance but earnings could be impacted by wider natural gas price/natural gas liquid differentials and taxes related to the sale of the company's stake in the Matterhorn Express pipeline, analysts at RBC Capital Markets said.

RBC forecasts Q2 earnings of $0.86 per share, below the analyst consensus of $0.88 per share and midpoint guidance of $0.88 per share.

Analysts surveyed by FactSet expect Q2 GAAP EPS of $0.86 and adjusted EPS of $0.88. The company is scheduled to report Q2 earnings on Aug. 5.

RBC lowered its price target on Devon Energy ( DVN ) to $38 from $40, with a sector perform rating.
