Diana Shipping Agrees to Sell Post-Panamax Ship for $11.9 Million

09:57 AM EST, 02/12/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Diana Shipping ( DSX ) said Wednesday that one of its units has agreed to sell a Post-Panamax vessel named Alcmene to an unaffiliated third party for $11.9 million before commissions.

The company said the unit will deliver the ship by March 7 or sooner.

Diana Shipping ( DSX ) also said it has signed a time charter contract with SwissMarine, Singapore, through one its units for a Newcastlemax dry bulk vessel called the m/v San Francisco.

The company said the gross charter rate is $26,000 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties, for a period until at least Oct. 25, 2026 and as late as Dec. 25, 2026.

The company said the new charter period is expected to begin Feb. 27, and that its current gross charter rate is $22,000 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties.
