10:03 AM EDT, 03/27/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Walt Disney ( DIS ) activist investor Nelson Peltz has received support from Egan-Jones in his proxy battle against the company, Peltz's firm Trian said Wednesday.

Trian said the proxy advisory firm recommended that Disney ( DIS ) shareholders vote for both of Trian's director nominees, Peltz and Jay Rasulo, and withhold on current Disney ( DIS ) directors Maria Elena Lagomasino and Michael Froman.

The company's annual meeting is April 3.

In making the recommendation, Egan-Jones cited what it called "the apparent lack of a... long-term succession plan" and a "mediocre financial performance" at Disney ( DIS ), Trian said.

Disney ( DIS ) didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
