06:44 AM EDT, 10/28/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Leaders of the International Longshoremen's Association and the United States Maritime Alliance said Friday that they will resume talks to forge a new agreement in November.
The dockworkers' union and the organization representing shipping companies earlier this month extended their contract until Jan. 15, reaching a tentative agreement on wages.
The negotiating teams will meet in New Jersey to hammer out a new master contract Proposal that can be presented to union rank-and-file for ratification.
