07:06 AM EDT, 03/28/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Dole (DOLE) said Thursday that the sale of its fresh vegetables division to Fresh Express fell through after the companies mutually agreed to terminate the transaction.

The companies terminated the deal after the US Department of Justice's decision to pursue litigation, aiming to block the transaction, Dole said.

Dole also said it remains confident that it will have an alternative option for its fresh vegetables division in the near term.
