07:28 AM EST, 12/05/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Dollar General ( DG ) reported fiscal Q3 earnings Thursday of $0.89 per diluted share, down from $1.26 a year earlier.
Analysts polled by FactSet expected $0.96.
Net sales for the fiscal quarter ended Nov. 1 were $10.18 billion, up from $9.69 billion a year earlier.
Analysts surveyed by FactSet expected $10.14 billion.
For fiscal 2024, the discount retailer now expects diluted EPS of $5.50 to $5.90 on net sales growth of 4.8% to 5.1%, compared with its previous projection of diluted EPS of $5.50 to $6.20 on net sales growth of 4.7% to 5.3%. The updated guidance includes the impact of hurricane-related expenses of $32.7 million, the company said. Analysts polled by FactSet expect EPS of $5.85 on sales of $40.52 billion.
The company on Wednesday maintained a quarterly cash dividend of $0.59 per share, payable on Jan. 21 to shareholders of record as of Jan. 7.
Shares of the company were up more than 2% in Thursday's premarket activity.
