DoorDash Rolls Out Measures to Prevent Account Sharing
Dec 12, 2024 10:02 AM

12:43 PM EST, 12/12/2024 (MT Newswires) -- DoorDash ( DASH ) said Thursday it is rolling out a list of measures to prevent account sharing.

The food ordering and delivery platform said it would be rolling out more frequent identity re-verification and use new machine learning technology to ascertain the identity of so-called Dashers, or those delivering packages.

The company said that it will now require more than 150,000 Dashers to re-verify their identity each week as part of a broader clampdown on account sharing. It will also require some Dashers to complete a real-time identity check during a dash immediately after they complete a delivery, the company said.

DoorDash ( DASH ) also said that those who can't or won't re-verify their identity will not be allowed to continue delivering packages.
