Tyres, when discarded, are non-biodegradable and turn into hazardous waste for the environment. In a brand new series Maruti Suzuki 'Dreamcatchers', CNBC-TV18 met an eco-warrior who has found a way to curb pollution caused by such discarded tyres. Pooja Apte Badamikar - an engineer turned entrepreneur - is making footwear from upcycled tyres. Her company BlinkGreen has so far upcycled 500 kilograms of scrapped tyres, while her brand Nemital now sells almost 35 different types of footwear for men, women and children.
